Fall 2020 Capitol Reef/Grand Staircase

The middle two weeks of October provided great conditions for our annual fall excursion around the Colorado Plateau. Our first stop was Fruita, Utah, the headquarters for Capitol Reef National Park. From there we continued on to Boulder, Utah and the surrounding Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.

North San Juans

We’ve often talked about traveling further into the Uncompahgre Wilderness Area. In the first week of September the stars aligned. With stable weather and time on our hands we set out on a 5 day excursion into the nearby North San Juans.

West End Ramble

After weeks of “stay at home” we made a quick visit to the “West End” for a change of environment. The area offers many options for fun and interesting desert exploration within a 2-3 hour drive from Telluride.

Fall 2019 – Waterpocket Fold

Capitol Reef National Park and the Waterpocket Fold provided another great two weeks of day hiking and back packing. We’ve been through the region many times and continue to find fantastic new adventures to enjoy.

Summer 2019 Weminuche

At the end of August we enjoyed a 6 day back packing route, traversing between the high passes of the Grenadier and Needle Mountains in the Weminuche Wilderness area.
